12th International tourism cartoon contest-2020
Theme
The theme of the competition in 2020 is:
1) Tourism in Coronavirus days,
2) Tourism after the Coronavirus,
3) Social distance in tourism.
Cartoons about these three themes can be sent to the competition.
Submission Guidelines
The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.
Each performer is allowed to submit maximum three works.
The cartoons submitted to the competition may be prepared as original drawings, digital printings or computer printouts. The drawing technique is open-ended. Drawings may be colorful or black and white. On the other hand, performers are required to put signatures on their drawings.
Participants must write their names, surnames and addresses behind their drawings. Also, they must complete the Participant Information Form placed under submission page and send it together with their drawings.
Cartoons sent may be of the ones previously published somewhere but previously awarded cartoons are not allowed to submit.
Cartoons submitted for selection will be able to be printed in the publication of Anatolia Tourism Academy and in other printed materials of this organization such as books, catalogs, brochures, postcards, web sites and posters. All rights for any other publishing except these belong to the owner of drawing.
The cartoons that will be selected after the first evaluation will be announced between Februrary 1 and 9, 2021. The objections will took into account between Februrary 1 and 9, 2021.
Finalist cartoons will be published in the album. Cartoonists whose drawings published in this album will be sent a copy of the album.
Regardless of award-winning or taking place in the album, all the cartoons submitted for selection will not be returned.
All the cartoonists participated in the competition are implied to agree on the conditions and regulations of the competition.
Submission deadline is 31 December 2020.

Categories
Cartoons will be accepted in two sections:
Adult Category: This category is open for the all of cartoonists who are 17 and older.
Category should be noted when cartoons are submitting. Grand award, second award, third award, Professor Atila Özer recognition award and three mansions will be given in this section. Finalist cartoons in this section will be published in the album.

Young Category: This category is open for the cartoonists who are 16 and younger.
Category should be noted when cartoons are submitting. Grand award and two achievement awards will be given in this section. Finalist cartoons in this section will be published in the album.

Instructions
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL TOURISM CARTOONS COMPETITION
1. ORGANIZERS
a)  The competition is organized by Anatolia Tourism Academy.
2. APPLICATION DATE
a)  Unless any pre-announced change is made, the deadline to submit the works is 31 December of each single year.
Any work received later is not considered for the competition.

3. THEME
a)  The competition is organized every single year by setting a theme related to any aspects of tourism.
4. PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION
a)  Competition is open to all cartoonists from all over the world, both amateur and Professional.
b)  Each cartoonist may submit maximum three works.
c)   Works to be submitted may be original drawings, digital printings or computer printouts.
d)  The drawing technique is freeform.
e)  Works may be in any color or black and white. Artists’ signature must take place on works to be sent in a paper form.
f)   Participants should write their names, surnames and full postal and email address. If website submission would be desired, full postal address, e-mail and phone number should be inserted where possible.
g)  Works may have been published elsewhere, but not awarded in a competition at all.
h)  Works may be considered for publishing in Anatolia Tourism Academy, and books, catalogs, brochures, postcards, websites and posters about this organization. All of the remaining broadcast rights belong to the author.
i)  No work is returned to the artists, regardless of obtaining any award or not.
j)  Cartoonists who participate in this competition are deemed to have accepted all the conditions described in this instruction.
5. CATEGORIES
a)  The competition comprises of two categories.
b)  “Category of Adult Cartoonists” is open for the participations of cartoonists who are 17 and older.
c)  “Category of Young Cartoonists” is open for the participations of cartoonists who are 16 and younger.
6. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMPETITION
a)  Announcement of the Competition is performed three times in virtual environments: The first announcement is performed in the first week of July. The second announcement is performed in the first week of October. The last announcement is performed in the first week of December of each year.
7. ANNOUNCEMENT OF SUBMITTED WORKS
a)  All works submitted to the competition are announced as a table format containing the cartoonist’s “name and surname”, “country” and “number of works submitted” on the competition’s official webpage in the first week of January.
8. MEMBERS OF SELECTION COMMITTEE
a)  Members of the selection committee consist of two groups as “Pre-selection Committee Members” and “Final Selection Committee Members”.
b)  Members of the selection committee are replaced every three years except two representatives determined by the Organization Committee.
c)  Every year, two cartoonists to be selected out of seven winner cartoonists of “Category of Adult Cartoonists” are invited to serve as a member of the Final Selection Committee in the following year’s competition.
9. EVALUATION OF WORKS
a)  The submitted Works are evaluated in three stages. In the first stage, Pre-selection Committee Members come together in İstanbul and they select approximately 1/5 of the submitted works for being evaluated as the finalist.
b)  Finalist works are suspended for a pre-announced period with no less than 10 days and copies and duplications are tried to be eliminated among them.
c)  Objections are accepted between the announced dates. Objections are presented to Pre-Selection Committee. Works which are subject to the objections justified by the committee are not accepted for the final evaluation.
d) In the second stage, Members of the Final Selection Committee select approximately 1/3 of the finalist works for being evaluated in the final evaluation.
e)  In the last stage, Members of the Final Selection Committee determine the winning works.
10. AWARDS AND AWARD CEREMONY
a)  In the Category of Adult Cartoonists, “The Grand Award”, “The Second Award”, “The Third Award”, “Professor Atila Özer Recognition Award”

, and “three Mansions” are presented.
b)  In the Category of Young Cartoonists “The Grand Award” and “two Mansions” are presented.
c)  Only award winners are provided a five-day free all-inclusive holiday in a five star hotel operating in Turkey.
d)  Plaques and award documents are presented to the Award winners.
e)  Award ceremony is organized anywhere in Turkey every April.
11. COMPETITION BOOK
a)  All the Award winner and finalist works are published in a colored Competition Book.
b)  Award winner cartoons of the previous years are also given place in the Competition Book.
c)  Information about members of the selection committee takes place in the Competition Book.
d) A copy of the Competition Book is sent to all cartoonists whose works are considered in the book.
e)  The Competition Book is also open online on competition’s official webpage.

Evaluation Declarations
Works submitted to the competition will be evaluated in two stages.
In the first stage, all the works will be pre-evaluated at a meeting held by Pre-Evaluation Selection Committee members. At the end of this meeting,

finalist works will be determined. No more than 1/5 of the works submitted to the competition will be taken for further evaluation.
Before continuing with the second stage, finalist works will be announced on the internet between 1 and 9 February 2021. Similar and copy works, plagiarism, previously awarded works, and other objections will be decided by the Pre-Evaluation Selection Committee members and due to the reasonable objections, on which the committee will reach a consensus, related works will be eliminated.
At the second stage, finalist works will be re-evaluated by Final Selection Committee Members. This time, evaluation will be done in two sub-stages.

In the first stage, the number of finalist woks will be reduced to 45-50 and, in the last stage, winners will be determined.
Evaluation of the submitted works will be done based on three critical issues mentioned below.
Selection and convenience of the topic,
Quality of humor,
Originality of drawing.
