FECO - 30 YEARS OF UNITED CARTOONISTS - INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION

The Museum HOUSE OF HUMOUR AND SATIRE is organizer of and host to an international cartoon exhibition celebrating 30 years since the inception of the FEderation of Cartoonists Organizations in the world (FECO). The exhibition features 60 works by 30 representatives of FECO-organizations from 14 countries including Bulgaria. The House of Humour and Satire is a collective member of the organization that has long expanded beyond the boundaries of Europe attracting members from Australia, Japan, Egypt, Argentina, Taiwan, Korea and Iran.
The FEderation of Cartoonists Organizations was set up as Federation of European Cartoonists Organizations in 1984 by Peter Nieuwendijk (Chairman of the Dutch Cartoon Association), Bob Vincke (Chairman of the Belgian Cartoon Association), Les Lilley (Chairman of the Cartoonists Club of Great Britain ), Ane Vasilevsky (Chairman of the Macedonian Cartoonists 'Association) and Senad Serdarevic (Chairman of the Croatian Cartoonists' Association). In 1985 Peter Nieuwendijk became FECO's first President General. The FECO logo was designed by British cartoonist and international prizewinner Roland Fiddy. The organization runs its own magazine - FECONEWS and website. FECO's current President General is Mr. Bernard Bouton (France) who is expected to inaugurate the exhibition in person.
FECO - 30 Years of United Cartoonists is a focal point in the festive programme to celebrate 1st April - the birthday of the House of Humour and Satire. The complete collection can be seen HERE, but every exhibitor will receive a complimentary copy of a colour brochure of the exhibition.
