Carlos Alberto da Costa AMORIM was born in Rio de
Janeiro, Brasil, in 1964.
He started to publish his works in 1984 at Pasquim, an humoristical
newspaper. Actually he publishes his editorials cartoons, caricatures and
comics strips in many brazilian newspapers and magazines. He produced humour
texts for the television net Rede Globo (1994) and he is author of a cartoon
book called Canastra Suja (1991).
His caricatures won the XIII Festival International du Dessin Humoristique
(Anglet, France, 1991) and had honor mentions at the Salão Carioca de Humor
(Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, 1991, 1992, 1993 e 1995) and Bienal Internacional
de Humor (Havana, Cuba, 1995). His cartoons won the first award in the
following brazilian humour salons: Festival lnternational du Dessín
Humoristique (Anglet, France, 1991); XIII Salão Internacional de Humor
(Piracicaba, Brazil, 1986), Popular Jury Prize in International Salon of
Humour (Piracicaba, Brazil, 1998); Salão de Humor de Campina Grande
(Paraíba, Brazil, 1989), Bienal Internacional de Histórias em Quadrinhos
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1991) and Salão de Humor de Goiânia (Goiânia,
Brazil, 1993,1994), besides the honor mentions in the IV Festival Acquaviva
nei Fumetti, (Acquaviva Picena, Italy, 1999); Okhotsk lnternational Cartoon
Exhibition (Hokkaido, Japan, 1998); FanoFunny Festival (Fano, Italy, 1996);
Salon Karicature Cvorak (Bjelovar, Croatia, 1996); lnternational Biennial of
Humour (Havana, Cuba, 1995); Salão Carioca de Humor (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
1995); Eurohumor (Cuneo, ltaly, 1994); Salão Carioca de Humor (Rio de
