Selected Artist Of The Exhibition Of Drawings On Covid-19 FIOCRUZ/BRAZIL ,2022

Program of the III International Seminar and VII National Seminar on Public Health Relations with the Press, from November 7th to 11th, an exhibition of cartoons, caricatures and comic strips on the topic of Covid-19 and its consequences will be held. 25 drawings selected from an open call for professional or amateur designers from all over Brazil and abroad will be on display at Fiocruz Brasília. From August 24th to October 10th, the organizing committee received more than 250 works from 33 different countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Cuba, United States, Philippines, Italy, Morocco, United Kingdom, Russia and Ukraine. The highlight was Iran, with 35 registered authors. From Brazil, the call received works from the states of: Alagoas, Distrito Federal, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.
The drawings received were evaluated by a group of 19 judges from Fiocruz Brasília and guests, who applied as criteria creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, layout and visual impact. “We were very satisfied with the quantity and, above all, with the quality of the works received. Our activity fulfills the objective of showing the power of visual communication for the synthesis, reflection and criticism of public health issues, both nationally and internationally”, points out Fabiana Mascarenhas, coordinator of marketing division at the Fiocruz Brasília Communication’s Office.
According to the rules of the call for drawings, the list of selected authors/works (in alphabetical order) is presented this Tuesday, November 1st, and can be seen below:

In addition to the 25 selected, three drawings received from Iranian children (with the permission of their parents and/or guardians) will be on display – with honorable mentions): Adrina Pighasemi, 9 years old; Alireza Radfarnia, 8 years old; and Nilya Sadat Mirrezaie, 9 years old.
From November 7th to 11th, during the III International Seminar and VII National Seminar Public Health Relations with the Press, in addition to the exhibition of the paintings at Fiocruz Brasília, there will also be a virtual exhibition on the institution’s Instagram. A popular jury, made up of the page’s followers, will select the best works, through likes.
After the event, the 25 selected drawings will illustrate a collection, in e-book format, to be produced in 2023 with the articles of the Seminar guests and the abstracts of the scientific works presented. The drawing most liked by the popular jury will be on the cover of this e-book.
The III International Seminar and VII National Seminar Public Health Relations with the Press is open to the public, and will be held in a hybrid format, in Fiocruz Brasília’s auditorium and also broadcast on Fiocruz Brasília’s YouTube channel. Over the five days, experts from Brazil and other countries will discuss the role, challenges, paths, mistakes and successes of communication in the Covid-19 pandemic. Register here
