Winners of the International Cartoon Contest "Humor Sapiens 2024"/Chile
At the Colegio Colonial de Pirque in Santiago de Chile, one of the sponsors of the Humor Sapiens Contest, the award ceremony and the opening of the cartoon exhibition took place.
The theme was “Technology and Education,” and it had two categories, one international and one school-based, aimed at students from schools throughout the country.
The first category received 691 works created by 351 artists from 65 countries!
The First Prize went to Arístides Hernández “Ares,” from Cuba;
The Second Prize, to Oleksiy Kustovsky, from Ukraine;
The Third Prize went to Marco De Angelis, from Italy,
and There was an Honorable Mention for Constantín Pavel, from Romania.
The jury was made up of Izabela Kowalska, Poland; David Vela, Spain; Ángel Boligán, Cuba-Mexico; Alex Pelayo, Chile-Spain and Pepe Pelayo, Cuba-Chile.
In an exclusive statement to MUNDIARIO, Arístides Hernánez (Havana, 1963) said: “I drew a 42 x 29.7 cm caricature using a very traditional technique: ink and watercolor on cardboard. I did not want to approach the subject of new technologies with a viewpoint in which a negative perception predominated. Most of the works I see on the subject are of machines that control human beings or addicted children and things like that. I made a drawing in which technology functions as a base, support and aid to an education that does not abandon the traditional resources of learning: reading, writing, individual study...”.
In the school category:
The First Prize went to Gabriel Sebastián Rodríguez,
Seventh grade, Colegio Villa El Sol, Santiago de Chile;
The Second Prize went to Florencia María Roky,
Seventh grade, Colegio Santa Elena, Comuna de Santiago;
The Third Prize went to Julieta Ignacia Cisternas,
sixth grade, Eagles College, Iquique Commune, Tarapacá Region,
and the Colonial College Prize went to Maximiliano Benjamín Marchant,
eighth grade.
The Jury was made up of Ricardo Sovino, from Colonial College of Pirque, Alex Pelayo, representing Humor Sapiens and Pepe Pelayo, director of the Competition, @mundiario
