Theme:" Things were better when they worse"

With the aim of rediscovering the ability to laugh at ourselves, our foibles, and our daily lives—and

inviting us to take a lighthearted break—Pro Loco Castello di Caneva APS (PN), with the support of the

Municipality of Caneva and APS Màcheri di Andreis (PN), has presented the thirteenth edition of the

Caneva Ride! contest—a little gem in the world of international competitions for satire and

cartoon humor, open to artists from around the globe.

The theme for the 2026 edition was: “Things Were Better When They Were Worse.”

Let us ask ourselves: What do we complain about? Was life easier in the past? Who knows what the future holds? What is "best," and where is "worst"?

From July 4 to July 26, 2026, the exhibition featuring the best works from the 13th EDITION OF CANEVA RIDE—an international social satire contest—will be open to

visitors at the Villa Frova Exhibition Hall in Stevenà di Caneva (PN)! Saturday, July 4 at 6:45 PM: awards ceremony for the 13th edition winners and opening of the

exhibition featuring the best entries.

The Jury President and satirical illustrator Marco De Angelis will be present at the awards ceremony.

The present day is contrasted with the distortions it has spawned—war, pollution, and isolation—ultimately envisioning a circle closing in a return to one's roots.
