Permanent Exhibition Of The "Manfred Deix"/Caricature Museum Krems 2015
On the occasion of the 65th birthday in 2014 of the "enfant terrible" of the Austrian Cartoon

scene the Caricature Museum Krems shows an exquisite new range of classics from

the collection of the State of Lower Austria, and previously part never exhibited works

from the exclusive private collection of the artist that even for Manfred Deix has selected

its permanent exhibition.

These allow a special view of thought processes and favorite themes of the artist who

is consistently and unswervingly its way.

Both fans of the first hour and a newcomer to the Deix universe will get their costs.

With almost clairvoyant abilities brings Deix scandals to light and captures

the truth - compressed by his artistic power - on paper.

An uncomfortable truth, on the one hand encounters open rejection and

allows the other hand to cheer his climbing growing fan base.
As a contrast to the elaborate watercolor images of collection items previously

unpublished sketches are shown in the new exhibition, which until now were hidden from

the public eye in the sketchbook of Manfred Deix always at his side.

Volatile drawings which are not necessarily implemented as cartoons for magazines.

But it is precisely these snapshots characterize operation and intentions of the artist who

is consistently and unswervingly its way.
Matching the Deix'schen hunting scenes is as special exhibit installation "Weidmannsheil"

by Gerhard Blabensteiner - to see, which is a grotesque, satirical roles of humans and

animals - taxidermist master of Zwettl.A collection catalog with 224 pages,

205 illustrations and an interview, Manfred Deix appears in conversation with

director Gottfried Gusenbauer the exhibition.
