REGULATIONS

International Cartoon Salon 20th Edition, 2025, Brăila, Romania

Period: February 24 - November 21, 2025.

Theme: Smiley Face/Smiling Face

Maximum number of works: 3

The works must be original and must be accompanied by a short biography, photo, address and phone number.

The technique of creating the works is free.

Submission of works to the competition: works must be sent by e-mail between: February 24 - July 10, 2025, 24:00 (Romanian local time), to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Judging will take place between: July 15 - 31, 2025.

Technical conditions:

The works must be sent in electronic format, JPG, 300 dpi resolution, CMYK.

Each submitted work will contain the author's name and the title of the work in the file name.

From the moment the ranking is handed over by the jury members and the judging minutes are signed, CJCPCT Brăila is exempted from any obligation towards the participants in the event, regarding the final results. The jury's decision cannot be contested or motivated. The amounts corresponding to the prizes are taxable according to the Romanian legislation in force, on the date of their award.

In order to receive their prizes, the winners must send the original winning work (with the author's signature on the back of the work) within a maximum of 45 days from the announcement of the winners (on the organizer's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Centrul.de.Creatie.Braila, together with the opening). The winning works will be accompanied by a declaration (attached to these Regulations) regarding the assignment of copyright for the purpose of unlimited exhibition as well as personal bank account details (bank name, IBAN code, SWIFT code), through a document

issued by the bank, account in lei (for Romanian competitors), respectively in euro/national currency (for foreign competitors).

The prizes will be offered in RON, at the BNR euro exchange rate on the date of approval of the initial Regulations.

The payment of prizes is made by bank transfer. The transfer costs will be borne by both parties (Organizer and the winner of the prize), according to banking legislation. The prizes will be transferred within a maximum of 60 days from the announcement of the winners, in compliance with legal provisions.

The winning works will be sent by mail to the following address: Romania, Brăila, Piața Traian, no. 2, postal code 810153.

The Organizer will not be responsible for the impossibility of a winner to take possession of the prize for reasons not related to it. If the competitor does not comply with the obligations imposed by these regulations, the Organizer is exempted from any liability.

Note: In the absence of interbank relations between Romania and the winner's country of origin, the Organizer is exempted from any liability.

Participants will declare that they are the owners of the works and hold the copyright over the caricatures entered in the contest.

By entering their works in the contest, participants agree to the exhibition of their works in caricature exhibitions organized in art galleries or museums, assigning the copyright for the works, for the purpose of exhibition (the agreement being implicitly given for the promotion of the International Caricature Salon).

The organizer assumes no responsibility for any possible infringement of copyright or property rights. Responsibility lies exclusively with the person who sent the caricature.

The winners of the International Caricature Salon transfer the ownership of the awarded works to the CJCPCT Brăila at the time of handing over the original works to it.

The winners declare on their own responsibility that they assign the copyright over the works for the purpose of creating exhibitions in order to promote the event, the institution and the image of the city, for an unlimited period, by any means.

The exhibitors in the edition catalog allow/grant the right to CJCPCT Brăila to use the works in order to promote the institution, the city and the salon in Art Galleries, museums, etc.

Salon opening and award ceremony: October 3, 2025.

The organizer will provide accommodation and meals for one day for the winners who will be present at the opening. The exception to accommodation is the winners residing in the Municipality of Brăila.

The organizer may invite (within the approved budget) the winner of the Grand Prize to the opening.

The organizer reserves the right to change the conditions of the competition; subsequent changes will be communicated to those interested.
