35th Sejong International Cartoon Contest "SICACO"/Korea2025

The Sejong Webtoon Campus at Sejong Technopark invites cartoonists from around the world to participate in the 2025 Sejong International Cartoon Contest (SICACO).

This global contest aims to promote Korean cartoon culture, discover outstanding talent, and build an international creative network.

Submission Period:

July 16 – September 3, 2025 (by 6:00 PM KST).

Theme:AI and Information Security

Eligibility

* Anyone interested in cartoons from around the world (all ages).

* Up to 3 works can be submitted per person (Joint submissions available, lead artist must be indicated).

Submission Format

* JPG format, 300 dpi or higher.

* Hand-drawn or digital works accepted.

* File name: title of the work.

* Submit by Post or Email.

* Submission documents:

1) Application form (required)

2) Work file (required).

Download the application form this announcement, fill it out, and submit it with your work to the following Postal Address:

111, 1st Floor, Sejong Technopark,

95 Guncheong-ro, Sejong Special Self-Governing City, South Korea.

1) Compress the application form and the work into one file folder, and submit the attachment via email.

2) Email subject: (SICACO) Cartoon_artist name.

Awards:

Grand Prize .. Mayor of Sejong City: $1,500 + Certificate of award and prize.

Gold Prize .. Director of Sejong Technopark: $1,000 + Certificate of award and prize.

Silver Prize .. Director of Sejong Technopark: $750 + Certificate of award and prize.

Bronze Prize .. Director of Sejong Technopark (2): $500 each + Certificate of award and prize.

Honorable Mentions .. Director of Sejong Technopark: Multitude + Certificate of award.

Note: Prize amounts may vary depending on exchange rates, taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winners.

Entry Restrictions and Disqualification Criteria

Entries may be disqualified and excluded from evaluation in the following cases:

- Works that do not comply with the official rules or specifications.

- If the same work has already won awards in other contests.

- Clear copyright infringement, such as plagiarism or unauthorized use.

- If the applicant’s identity is unclear or unverifiable.

- Works that defame or insult others.

- Failure to follow submission guidelines (e.g., number of works, size, format).

Judging Panel:

A panel of up to 5 cartoon experts will review all submissions in two rounds:

1) Preliminary screening to select the top 20%.

2) Final review based on creativity, quality, theme relevance, and delivery.

Winners will be announced in September 2025 via the website and email.
