The Memorial of Latin America, with the support of the Association of Cartoonists of Brazil and the Memorial Institute of Graphic Arts of Brazil, held in next April the 1st Hall Latin American Humor. Registration for participants is now open.Designers can apply graphic humor (cartoons and caricatures), professional or not. Each artist may submit up to three works on the theme, which in this first edition are the "Sons of Latin America." The drawings need not be original, but may not have already been awarded in another event.Cartoons and caricatures to be sent until March 15, 2016, exclusively at the event website, www.salaolatinoamericanodehumor.com where all information and the complete rules are available.
In total, 150 works will be selected by a qualified jury and will be exhibited in the Space Gabriel García Márquez, the Latin America Memorial.
Event
The 1st Latin American Humor Exhibition aims to work through graphic humor, themes of music, sport, literature, tourism and culture in general.The first edition takes place from April 18 to May 20, 2016 and will bring panels full of colors, traits and moods of the Tango, Rumba, Samba, Bolero, Bossa Nova, among other musical rhythms, and its great interpreters and composers.The curator is José Alberto Lovetro (JAL), directed by Gualberto Costa.Awards
Even the participants selected for the exhibition is who will vote and elect the best cartoon or caricature of the Hall, which will receive a prize of R $ 12,000. The vote will be made by email and will be opened. The author will not be allowed to vote in the design itself. This is an unprecedented experience in the halls of humor.
About the Latin America Memorial
Opened on March 18, 1989, the Memorial of Latin America is a public foundation, non-profit organization with the main objective to spread Latin American manifestations of creativity and knowledge, seeking closer cultural, political, economic social and Brazil and the rest of Latin America.
Designed and implemented by architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Memorial is installed near the center of Sao Paulo, Barra Funda. Organized more than 150 exhibitions and mood halls as well as being awarded by the newspaper Asahi Shimbun (Japan) as a cartoonist and have received the award Vladimir Herzog Human Rights for his performance in the Direct Campaign Already in 1984. Along with the cartoonist JAL wrote the book "History of Football through Cartoons" and "History of the Brazilian team through charges".
