The Book Illustrators Gallery (BIG) aims to showcase the works of local and regional illustrators and artists - across genres and borders - and promote them to a wider audience.

 

This year, close to 145 submissions came in from neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, as well as from the Middle East, including Iran, Afghanistan,. Entries were also received from India, Lithuania, Australia, Russia and United Kingdom.

 

The curators of this year's BIG are: Dr Tony See, who lectures at National University of Singapore previously at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts; and author / illustrator Susanna Goho-Quek, whose picture books include God Is Hu? and Fun at the Opera.
