Nikola Listeš Presented His Collection Of The Most Awarded And World-Famous Caricatures/Croatia,2024

The city library of Kaštela printed a collection of caricatures by one of the most awarded Croatian caricaturists, Nikola Listeš from Kaštela. It is about the book "New Normal", and this Thursday it was presented in the Archbishop's Castle in Sućurac.

The work of one of the most awarded Croatian cartoonists, the world-famous author, Nikola Listeš, a native of Sućurac, was presented last night in front of many residents of Kaštel. The reason for this, according to the director of the City Library, Renata Dobrić, is that he is recognized in the world, and in Croatia he is the least recognized, so it was extremely important that his most awarded works be shown to his fellow citizens.

- He said that he was happy how many of his fellow villagers came to support him and how many people are interested in his work, which is really recognized in the world, so we can rightly call it world class - said Dobrić and invited everyone to come and see the exhibition and they have a good laugh.

45 award-winning caricatures were printed in this collection, and all of them were exhibited during the evening, and will be available for viewing for the next 15 days in the Bishop's Palace in Kaštel Sućurac.

One of the presenters of the book was Hrvoje Hitrec, a well-known Croatian writer, whose books and readings have brought up numerous generations.

- Nikola Listeš and I have known each other for a hundred years, I follow the work of all caricaturists, but Nikola is exceptional in everything, I think and claim that he is one of the best caricaturists in the world in general. The proof is the huge awards he receives in the world. He is perhaps more appreciated in the world than in Croatia, he is a complete author of both drawing and painting. This collection of Novo is normally beautiful. It is a retrospective selection of his best works, with an excellent introduction by Mrs. Dobrić - full of words of praise for Hitrec.

Nikola Listeš could not hide his emotions on the occasion of the presentation of the book, so he told this audience that he felt great respect for it, because it is about the toughest critics, the people he grew up among: - I am glad to see the people I see every day, have come are to see my international caricatures. It's about caricatures that won international competitions, and now imagine that I'm exhibiting it in front of my locals, and some of them took me by the hand when I was little. - the author Listeš emotionally reflected on the event itself.

Each of the set caricatures tells its own story, and is prone to the observer's own interpretation. In times when there is a lack of laughter, a great way to relax and have fun can be viewing these world-renowned caricatures, which will be displayed for visitors for the next two weeks.
