409 authors from 51 countries such as Turkey, England, America, Japan, France, Italy, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Iran, Croatia, Myanmar and Belgium participated in the International Cartoon Competition, organized for the fifth time this year by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, with 1128 cartoons. . While Ali Rastroo from Iran won the first prize of the 5th International Cartoon Competition, Mojmir Mihatov from Croatia came second and Ali Shur from Turkey came third.

The jury members of the cartoon competition, organized 4 times by the Metropolitan Municipality with the themes of "Migration", "Pandemic Covid 19", "Fire", "Education" and this year with the theme of "Natural Disasters", are Turkey's most famous cartoonists Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu, Raşit Yakalı. consists of Şevket Yalaz, Abdülkadir Uslu, Mehmet Selçuk, Sarkis Paçacı and Savaş Ünlü. This year, the jury chose among 1128 caricatures of 409 authors from 51 countries.

To date, the authors have sent a total of 6 thousand 587 cartoons to the competition, which was launched nationally by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality in 2015 and has been organized internationally since 2020. Nilyasadat Mirrezaei from Iran and Elif Bilge Sağlam from Sinop won the under-18 award in the competition. Cemalettin Güzeloğlu, who participated from Izmir, also received the Raşit Yakalı special award. In the competition, honorable mentions were given to Toso Borkovic from Serbia, Hüseyin Tanyeri from Ankara and Mohammadali Khalaji from Iran.
